§ 12-24. Traffic violation surcharge for state court facilities.

(a)

In addition to any penalties imposed for noncriminal traffic infractions pursuant to F.S. ch. 318, or imposed for the criminal violations listed in F.S. § 318.17, there is hereby imposed a $15.00 surcharge for any such infraction or violation. The court shall not waive this surcharge. In the event that F.S. § 318.18(13), is amended to change the amount of costs imposable thereunder, this article shall be deemed to be automatically amended to authorize the imposition of the maximum costs allowed thereunder.

(b)

The fees collected pursuant to subsection (a) of the section shall be administered by the board of county commissioners and used to fund state court facilities, as required by F.S. § 318.18. The county shall consult with the chief judge of the 7th judicial circuit or designee in determining the items to be funded hereunder.
