§ 2-169. Statutory powers of development authority.

  • (a)

    It is declared that:

    (1)

    The board of county commissioners has the authority to confer the statutory powers granted by F.S. ch. 159, pt. III (F.S. § 159.44 et seq.) upon the county development authority.

    (2)

    By conferring the statutory powers granted by F.S. ch. 159, pt. III (F.S. § 159.44 et seq.) upon the county development authority, will provide for the continuation of a single governmental body providing assistance to industries interested in located or remaining in the county.

    (3)

    There is a need for the county development authority to exercise the powers granted by F.S. ch. 159, pt. III (F.S. § 159.44 et seq.) in order to provide financial assistance to existing or new industries that may desire to locate or remain in the county.

    (b)

    The statutory powers found in F.S. ch. 159, pt. III (F.S. § 159.44 et seq.) are hereby conferred upon the county development authority.
