§ 42-31. Parking in right-of-way prohibited.
(a)
Except at the direction of a law enforcement officer, no person shall:
(1)
Park a vehicle in violation of the provisions of F.S. § 316.1945(1); or
(2)
Park a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except temporarily for the purpose of, and while actually engaged in, loading or unloading merchandise or passengers, within any public right-of-way in the unincorporated area of the county.
(b)
The provisions of this section shall not apply to the following:
(1)
Government vehicles;
(2)
Vehicles providing a public service, while actually engaged in providing such service, including, but not limited to, garbage trucks, postal vehicles, private mail carriers and couriers, emergency rescue vehicles and vehicles used in connection with work being performed in the public right-of-way; and
(3)
A vehicle properly parked in an area designated by a unit of government as a lawful parking area.
