§ 6-37. Report of bite cases.

  • Veterinarians, physicians, animal owners, and any other person having knowledge that any person has been bitten by an animal shall report same immediately to the county health office, department head, animal control officer, or law enforcement agency. Said animal shall be quarantined for a period of ten days in suitable quarters. The county health department or law enforcement agency may require the owner of said animal to quarantine the animal at home until the animal control officer can be notified, at which time the animal control officer will make the final determination as to the location where the animal will be quarantined. Any expense incurred in said quarantine shall be borne by the animal owner.
