§ 2-193. Board of commissioners' qualifications.

  • (a)

    There is to be appointed a board of commissioners of the EZDA consisting of eight to 13 members. The membership shall consist of at least one representative from each of the following:

    (1)

    The local chamber of commerce;

    (2)

    Local financial or insurance entities;

    (3)

    The businesses operating within the nominated area;

    (4)

    The residents residing within the nominated area;

    (5)

    A nonprofit community based organizations operating within the nominated area;

    (6)

    The local jobs & education partnership;

    (7)

    The local code enforcement agency; and

    (8)

    The local law enforcement agency.

    (b)

    The terms of office of the EZDA commissioners shall be for four years, except that for initial appointments, two members shall be appointed for terms of three years, two members shall be appointed for terms of two years, and one member shall be appointed for a term of one year, and the remaining initial members shall serve for terms of four years. A vacancy occurring during the term shall be filled by the board of county commissioners for the unexpired term. EZDA commissioners shall generally reflect the gender and ethnic composition of the county as a whole.
