§ 44-47. Connections with county water and sewer systems.

  • (a)

    The owner of each new improvement within the county that uses potable water shall connect, or cause such improvement to be connected, with the facilities of the county water and sewer system as such systems become available. Such connections shall be made within 90 days following notification to do so by the director. Upon connection, improvements may not be disconnected from the county water or sewer system except at the direction of the director for health or safety reasons or for past due fees in accordance with section 44-61.

    (b)

    No connection shall be required for water or sewer service if the nearest county water line is more than 250 feet from any property line on which the Improvement is located.

    (c)

    This article shall not require or entitle any person to cross the private property of another to make any water or sewer connection.
